The Montparnasse tower was built between 1958 and 1973, in the American tradition of sky scrapers :
It is composed of 59 floors and outside walls made of glass. A 360° view on Paris’ roofs is
available from its panoramic terrace. However, an enormous public scandal grew up
against the construction of this giant of glass in the neighbourhood of people in need.
